This incredible story too seems to be directly from a fairytale. The only difference is that this story began in the beautiful mountainous state of Sikkim, precisely at Sikkim Government College, Tadong.
The protagonist of this story, Pramod Rajput, was born in a tiny remote village in Chapra District, Bihar. As the son of an Army personnel, he studied at Sikkim Government College in the 1984-86 batch, pursuing a BSc in Mathematics (Pass course). In his first year of college, Pramod fell in love with his classmate Sujata, the daughter of another Army personnel from Madhya Pradesh. However, since their castes were different, their parents opposed their relationship.
Pramod eventually found success as a poet. He became a regular participant in local Mushairas and Kavi-Sammelans, sharing the stage with prominent poets from around the world. His popularity soared on February 7, 2019, when a verse from one of his ghazals was quoted in the Indian Parliament by the leader of the opposition, Mallikarjun Kharge. In response, two more verses from the same ghazal were quoted by none other than the Prime Minister of India, Narendra Modi. It was perhaps the first time in history that both the leader of the opposition and the Prime Minister quoted from the same poem of a poet.
In the same year, 2019, Pramod published his first book, titled Aa Jee Lein Zara, which is available worldwide on Amazon. Recently, he published two more books, which are novels titled Saat Rang Pyaar Ke (in Hindi).
Albert Einstein once said about Mahatma Gandhi, “Generations to come will scarce believe that such a one as this ever in flesh and blood walked upon this earth.”
